Dubs in the Barn

On Sunday, April 10th, 2016, the First Annual Dubs in the Barn show was held, put on by the LGK (Luft Gekühlt Kreuzers) Volkswagen Club.

The day dawned slightly overcast, and pulling into the venue at 6:30 a.m., a row of Volkswagens were already parked, ready for the show. There was excitement and anticipation in the air.  It was early, but there was an army of LGK volunteers ready to put on the best show possible. Again, the sense of family permeated every aspect of the event.

Cars that were shown included Vintage Volkswagens, water-cooled VW’s, Baja Bugs and even some projects in the works.   There was definitely something for everybody there.  The swap meet was a big success and people were greeting old friends and making new ones everywhere throughout the venue.

A lot of teamwork was required to make things run smoothly and the result was obvious.  Even people that dropped by, thinking it was a generic car show, stayed to check out the vehicles and the swap meet.  Some came back just to say how impressed they were and that they didn’t expect the diversity of Volkswagens that they had just seen.

At the end of the day, the volunteers gathered for a photo, and the smiles on the faces of the group were an indication of just how great a day it was.
